SKP Co-op Retreat of New Mexico, Inc.

The Ranch is a
SKP Co-op Park of the Escapees RV Club located on the northern edge of the Chihuahuan Desert in Southeastern New Mexico  between Artesia and Carlsbad.

“SKP” or “Skip” is a commonly used nickname for Escapees.

Just say S-K-P fast and it sounds like Escapees.

But there is more to SKP than just the sound of the letters. SKP means:

Service, Knowledge and Parking, and also Special Kind of People.
The Orginal  Ranch members, Joe and Kay Peterson  have formed a community concept that gives us all a special purpose and a willingness to share. We love to learn, to share our skills and talents, to explore, to laugh and enjoy ourselves.
Escapees and Xscapers a new generation of RVers,  come from all walks of life to form a family of RVers with common interests (travel), common living situation (living in RVs) common expansion  (raising families) and a common place to call our home base and see our Ranch family.

Members have taken the idea of caring and sharing to heart from the very beginning in 1982 with the initial lot drawing taking place in May 1983. We say the park is run by volunteers and it's true! In the process, members have formed a community concept that gives us all a special purpose and a willingness to share our knowledge, skills and talents which we each are born with. The Ranch quickly earned a reputation for being the friendliest park in the Escapees system.
It is the only one of the parks in the Escapees system that still rings the welcome bell for each new arrival.
RVing the
Escapee way or even the Xscapers way gives you a support network that will enrich your travels through companionship with those who understand your values and treasure your friendship.

All members are encouraged to participate in both committee activities of their choice and social events. There is something here for everyone to do and to enjoy!
